BOGDANOVICH GLACIER

Bogdanovich Glacier represents the ideal day-trip destination to sparkling glacier departing from Almaty. Using the cable car system to reach 3200 meters altitude, visitors can skip lengthy approaches and focus on experiencing the glacier itself.

If you would like to book a program for a specific date, we require a 30% prepayment to secure your place. This is a schedule to help you understand the timing of the program. In winter, it gets dark very early, so you need to start the program as early as possible. In summer, you can start a little later in the day.
7:45 - 8:00 – Meeting the guide at your place, transfer to cable car.
8:45 – Arrival at Medeo, the lower station of the cable car. Take the cable car to Shymbulak and then continue up to the Talgar Pass, which is at an altitude of 3,200 meters.
9:45 – Arrival at the Talgar Pass. You may use the restroom, take a look around, and prepare for the trek.
10:00 - 12:00 - Trekking to the ice cave on the Bogdanovich Glacier can take anywhere between 40 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the conditions.
12:00 - 14:00 – Exploring ice grottoes and caves. Free time.
14:00 - Start of the return trip. If you would like to spend more time at the Shymbulak ski resort on the way back, go to a cafe or restaurant or something like that. You can complete the guided program there and then descend on your own. Your cable car ticket will remain valid until the evening.
